If you have been on the North Coast 500, we lie right on this famous route 57 miles north west of Lairg; with the closest main airport south east of us at Inverness.
Designed by three local golf enthusiasts – Lachie Ross, Ian Morrison and Francis Keith – and opened in 1988, Durness Golf Club nestles on Scotlandโs north coast and is Britainโs most north westerly golf course on the mainland. We are a 9 hole links, but with a second set of tees that provides a fine 18 hole experience, set against some of the most stunning landscape backdrops you will see in the golfing world.

There is some maintenance work planned to be carried out on our Greens over the next few days. Greens will be Solid Tined, Seeded, Top Dressed and Fertilsed.
Work will start this afternoon and should be all completed by Tuesday night weather permitting.

Played it just last week and absolutely loved it. The most fun I’ve had on a golf course for a while. Stunning views and some really interesting holes - especially the par 5 and the closing stretch. Also the staff in the cafe/clubhouse were great. Recommended
Always enjoy playing Durness Golf Club, the course, staff & members are fantastic - love all the holes, all different and what breathtaking views! Definitely a bucket list course, there's no other 9 hole course like it IMHO, plays like an 18 with different tees on 2nd nine.
Great experience a round at Durness Golf Club . At 1 point the walk between 1 of the T's was that long. I felt like I was taking my club's for a walk in the moors lol. Think my favourite hole was the par 5 round the loch. Thoroughly enjoyed my round. The setting is incredible. I'll definately be back someday. Played Ullapool the same day. It was also a very enjoyable experience and great setting on the Loch.

I'm not a golfer and in any case I am past the time of life when I could play, but I love this course and used to come to Balnakeil Bay to do my bird watching. The whole area holds very fond memories for me.
